Partnership Groups
As this new Family Intervention process was being created, two existing groups and the service they provided were identified as being essential to the success of this effort. The first group is the School Attendance Review Board, SARB. This legislatively mandated group has been involved in truancy prevention for a number of years, and has among its membership many of the same persons who are involved in this new Policy Group. In the Family Intervention process SARB continues its current efforts and provides regular information on school attendance of youth involved in the Family Intervention Process.
The second group is the Sutter County Assessment Team, SCAT. This group also represented all of the organizations involved in the Family Intervention Process. Initially SCAT continued to serve the families not being served by the Family Intervention Team. In an effort to coordinate services the SCAT chairperson attended all meetings of the Family Intervention Policy Group and received all correspondence involved with this effort. By January of 2000 it was apparent that SCAT was superfluous as the number of FIT case managers increased, and it was disbanded. In its place the policy group developed a process to review all youth in placement under the supervision of Sutter County and now makes plans for disposition of these youth at regularly scheduled meetings where all agencies participate in the outcome planning for the youth.
